Renewing your Coverage

Access Health CT customers enrolled in health or dental plans must renew their coverage during the annual Open Enrollment Period. If you have HUSKY Health, your renewal is determined by the date you originally enrolled. You may need to renew it outside of the Open Enrollment Period. Starting in 2027, if you have HUSKY D you will need to renew it every six months instead of once a year.

Access Health CT encourages all customers to shop and compare plans this year. If you are already enrolled through Access Health CT, you may need to take action to renew your health or dental plan.  Make sure to report any changes to your information since you enrolled, like your household size, household income and tax filing status. Changes to your household information may impact the financial help that may be available to you.

Important

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, you must report the change(s) to us immediately:

  • Have you changed jobs this year?
  • Has your household income changed since you enrolled?
  • Has your home and/or mailing address changed since you enrolled?

Tips for a Smooth Renewal

  • Make sure you know what you need to do to complete your renewal, and when.
    • Open Enrollment starts earlier this year, on October 23. This gives you more time to compare plans and complete your enrollment. But don’t let the deadline catch you by surprise. You need to renew your health or dental insurance by December 15 to have insurance on January 1. If you enroll between December 16 and January 15 your plan will start February 1.
  • If you have preferred doctors, healthcare providers or prescription drugs, check that they are included in your plan.
    • You can enter a doctor's name or ZIP code when you apply through Access Health CT, as well as any prescription drugs you want to be sure are covered. When comparing health plans, you will be able to see which plans include your preferred doctors and prescription drugs.
  • Schedule time with a Certified Broker who can help recommend a health or dental plan for you, for free.
    • You can search for a broker in your area who speaks your language or come to one of our Enrollment Fairs where brokers will be available to advise you. Already have a broker? To get their contact information, sign in on the Access Health CT website and click "Manage My Assistance."
