The federal government has not taken action yet to renew some subsidies that have been available to customers since 2021. That means the amount of financial help available to Access Health CT customers is probably changing. Access Health CT has already informed the federal government of the impact of reduced financial help to you and your family. However, without action by Congress, Connecticut residents may see changes to their health insurance costs starting on January 1, 2026.
What does this mean for Connecticut residents?
- Premium costs will rise for most people.
- The total amount of Premium Tax Credit (PTC) amounts received by consumers will be smaller.
- Some households will no longer qualify for Premium Tax Credits if their annual income is above 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
The most important thing to know is that financial help is still available. If you currently get financial assistance, it may be less than you have received. And some customers may no longer qualify.
With upcoming changes to financial help, you should actively shop and compare plans before enrolling. There are many plan options to choose from, and you should pick the health and/or dental plan that matches your health needs and your budget.
