Loss of APTC

I lost my financial help (or tax credits), why did that happen?

My bill is different, why?

Your eligibility for tax credits can change for a number of reasons:

  • You reported a change to your income that is higher than what you previously reported- you may not qualify for the same amount of tax credit or any tax credit
  • You did not provide the requested documents to prove your eligibility
  • You provided documents that we could not use to prove your eligibility
  • You failed to file a tax return for last year and you received tax credits- you won't be eligible for tax credits this year.  (Filing a federal tax return is a requirement to be eligible for APTCs.)
  • You no longer claim a person as a tax dependent now or you are married but filed separate tax returns (if married you must file a joint return to receive APTCs)
  • You are newly eligible for a government-sponsored health care program (such as Medicare Part A or Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid, CHIP, VA care, and Tricare)
  • Your employer offered you affordable, minimum value coverage

If you think you may still be eligible to receive financial help, please review your Access Health CT application. If you need help understanding your eligibility, please call the Contact Center at 1-855-361-2428.
