How do I cancel coverage?

Customers with Qualified Health Plan (QHP) coverage can cancel their coverage online or by phone with Access Health CT. However, if any member of the household has HUSKY Health coverage (Medicaid/CHIP) you must call Access Health CT to cancel.

 How to Cancel QHP Coverage

Requests to end your coverage must go through Access Health CT directly. These requests cannot be processed by your insurance company.

You can cancel your QHP coverage by calling us at 855-805-4325, or if you have an online account you can cancel your health insurance coverage by signing in and clicking "End Coverage" under Quick Links.

The Date You Contact Us Or Cancel Your Coverage Is Important

If a customer cancels coverage during the first 5 business days of the month, they have the option to select an end date of either the end of the previous month or the end of the current month. At any time after the first 5 business days of the month, Access Health CT can only terminate coverage at the end of the month in which the primary applicant or authorized representative contacts us to end coverage. One exception is in the case of death of an enrollee where the end date of coverage is the date of death.

For example,

  •  If you decide to cancel your coverage on May 2 and contact Access Health CT, you can select an end date of April 30th or May 31st.
  • If you decide to cancel your coverage on May 16 and contact Access Health CT, your coverage will terminate at the end of the month on May 31. You cannot select an earlier or later date.

If you need a coverage termination letter, please contact your insurance company.
