Open enrollment for 2026 health and dental coverage through Access Health CT has been extended to January 31, 2026. If you enroll by midnight on January 31, your coverage will begin on February 1.
What to know when you apply
When you fill out your application, you will see a question asking if you want your coverage to begin on February 1.

You need to select every member of your household enrolling now for February 1 coverage.
IMPORTANT: If you do not select each member of your household, your coverage won’t begin until March.
Making a change to your health coverage
If you have previously enrolled in health coverage for 2026, but want to make a change to your plan, you can do so until January 31.
- Log in to your account and click “report a change.”
- Select your new plan and complete the enrollment.
- You will need to pay your January premium for the original plan.
- Your new plan will begin February 1 and any change in premium price will be reflected in your February bill.
New Financial Help is Available
Governor Lamont announced the state will provide financial help to replace expired federal subsidies and lower the cost of health coverage for eligible Connecticut residents.
Households with an annual income between 100% and 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), who are not already enrolled in the Covered CT Program, will receive financial help from the state to replace all of the expired enhanced premium tax credits.
If your household has an annual income over 400% and up to 500% FPL, you will receive financial help from the state to replace 50% of the expired enhanced premium tax credits.
When you complete your application, make sure you select “requesting financial help” and use the maximum amount of federal financial help (APTC) available to you. The state financial assistance applies only to bronze, silver or gold plans.

IMPORTANT:
When you compare and shop for health plans through Access Health CT, you will not be able to see the new subsidy reflected in your premium estimate. The financial help will be reflected in the bill from your insurance company.
